2021 NATIONAL SPECIALTY AND HUNT TESTS

Health and Genetics Seminar, Welcome dinner, State basket/beverage auction, grooming, Conformation rally, obedience, trick dog, Canine good citizen, photo contest, trash duck challenge, AKC Hunt Test, Working Certificate hunt test, Puppy/first time hunt test, Youth Handlers, Annual meeting, Banquets, lunches, Raffles, silent auctions, Annual awards, Roustabout…… Fellowship…..
That is a WHOLE LOT of activity packed into a 4 ½ day event.
From Wednesday afternoon through Sunday, our Nationals was a flurry of activity
27 dogs participating in the Conformation rally
51 dogs participating in the Hunt tests, many for the very first time.
17 teams participating in the Roustabout.
Whether you have been attending the Nationals for a long time, or it was your first, I sure do hope that you made some new
friends. If you just stopped by to see what it is all about, I will hope that you were welcomed and decide to join us next year.

Hunt Tests
On Friday, the action migrated to the Wolf River Game Farm located near Clintonville .
Again this year a combination of AKC Spaniel and AWSC hunt tests enabled participants to obtain qualifying scores for their dogs in both venues. Handlers rotated through upland flushing tests, water retrieving tests, and land retrieving tests required by the AWSC Hunt Test program at two locations on the sprawling grounds. The dual hunt tests went smoothly, and those that were entered in both events had good, long days of it.

Party Time!
In the name of research - the AWSC helped provide a baseline for a study regarding normal bacteria in dogs by collecting a chunk of love and a teaspoon of golden joy. Thank you to all that helped in this morning/evening adventure.

Enjoying the evening after a great day of working the field and water with the dogs. Great food, smiles, and ribbons. Thank you Dean and Tammy for the wonderful tests grounds, delicious food, and awesome hospitality. Truly a spectacular evening and end to the conformation and hunt tests.

Roustabout
Sunday morning was devoted to the Roustabout - a favorite competitive hunting event.
This year, two fields were used to divide the competitors into groups of approximately 8 teams, with
the winners of the two fields competing against each in the final. Field B was won by team
Eric Wahlstrom & Cole Wahlstrom with King, while Field A had a tie
between two teams (Eric W and Cole with Teddy) and (Kevin Smith & Jon Hattrem with Rye).
The gallery witnessed some quick flushes and sharp shooting from both sides.
Team Eric & Cole ended up coming out ahead with an impressive run of 2:29 min. The final championship was a dog vs dog competition, King vs Teddy, with Teddy taking home the trophy with team Eric and Cole. Couldn’t have asked for a more exciting run at the Roustabout.
