AWARDS
Pfeifer Award
The Pfeifer Award honors the top five AWS field working dogs participating in licensed hunt tests and is presented at the AWSC's Annual Awards Banquet. Each of the top five dogs receives a certificate and a gold duck band. The dog earning the most points
(minimum of 100 pts) takes home a traveling trophy for one year.
Register of Merit
The Register of Merit (ROM) system is designed to honor the AWS dogs who have proven themselves to be exceptional producers of champions, hunting and working dogs.
Vaughn Brockman Award
Vaughn W. Brockman was instrumental in the improvement of the AWS through both selective breeding and recognizing the importance of good conformation in the hunting dog. The Vaughn W. Brockman Award consists of those who have earned an AKC breed championship and an AWSC, Inc. Working Dog title or higher.
NATIONAL EVENT AWARDS
BEST IN SPECIALTY SHOW
The Best In Specialty Show (BISS) award is given to the dog that the judge deems best of all the American Water Spaniels shown at the AWSC, Inc. National Specialty.
ROUSTABOUT WINNERS
The roustabout is a fun competition between teams of two individuals and one dog.
It demonstrates the skill and close relationship required for top performance between Man and his Dog.
