Congratulations on taking the first step of adding a new member to your family! Like most big decisions in one’s life, it pays to do your research. This includes understanding why a responsible breeder is so important and knowing what key factors to look for when choosing a breeder.

6. Provide current health clearance information on both sire and dam.
7. Provide pictures of both sire and dam.
8. Screen prospective puppy buyers and be willing to answer and explain questions posed.
9. Provide and honor their contracts.
10. Provide support and mentorship to puppy buyers throughout the dog’s lifetime.
