You’re Simply the Best:
Lives are busy.  I remember the debate of if we should bring a 4 legged member into our home.  
Guess I didn’t want to end the chapter of raising kids without you - Best decision Ever.  
The Love, Laughter, Patience, and Responsibility you have help nurture within this house will be with us forever.
You touched our hearts, demonstrating unconditional love is not always being perfect -  but rather it’s the
ability to forgive, accept, and  rejoice in the happiness of just being with someone.  You taught these lessons to us. 
You entered our lives and filled our hearts.

You made me smile:
Watching you run - watching you leap and pounce - - -  
Seeing the pure joy it gave you is a gift you gave me every time we ventured out.  

What we liked to do: 
You got me into hunting. I so enjoyed spending time learning how to train, and how to hunt pheasants.. 
You inspired my  love for being outdoors again - hikes, walks, kayak rides - - everything was better when with you. 
Your energy racing ahead of me on a MTB trail was contagious, and your strength when we went skijoring kept me
strong.  But the snuggles on the couch - the companion at my side - is what I ache for now. 

The trouble you got into: 
That mouth of yours surely got you in trouble.  You ate anything you could get a hold of - sticks, paper, poo, socks,
washcloths, cobs of corn.   More than once we forced Hydrogen Peroxide down or took you to the ER.  
Stitches  - you had a few.  Crashing through the brush cut your under betty once - and we had no clue until  6 hours later. 
And you were a thief.  If food was in reach - it was gone. 

I will Never Forget:
You are the first dog who had eyes only for me.  You follow me throughout - laying by my feet when they are at rest.  The thumping of the tail when our eyes meet.  The disregard for others as they come home - searching the front door for me when  I”m not home.  Resting my hand on your back, having you curl around and rest heavily against my side.  And most of all, accepting my overbearingly  long hugs without complaint.  You let me show my love for you in our humanly way without complaint - knowing we need that extra time.  You gave and accepted love, and touched my heart forever.
