Tug
Family of Pam Wood
Today, I want to honor the wonderful Tug. Tug picked his family over 12 years ago and provided such love and companionship to his family. Tug crossed the Rainbow Bridge on December 10th.
Tug was named appropriately because he could truly Tug at your heart with his handsomeness.
Tug was a die-hard Packers fan and that green and gold looked so great on him, that the Packers wanted him to be their spokesperson. While Tug seriously considered the offer, he quickly learned that the schedule would interfere with the time that he spent with mom and dad warming their feet, laps and necks during the games. He declined, because, well, family is everything.
Tug loved spending time with mom and dad. His favorite times were spent going on walks, on the water fishing with dad or in the kayak with mom. Rumor had it that he liked to look at the water, but didn’t want to get in. Tug loved long walks with mom and dad, but like all of us, the quarantine was a bit much and he fake limped one day because he didn’t want to go for a walk….. AGAIN. He liked his walks so much that he liked to carry his own leash as he wanted to make sure mom and dad understood the assignment.
Tug had his favorite spots and things that he claimed as his. Well, in true AWS fashion, let’s face it, everything is theirs. However, he liked to recharge himself and would find the best sunny spot. Once charged and all warm, he would then go play This Spot is Mine, so is this one, and that one and all of them, they are all mine….. but I will share with you. Tug also had a standard AWS feature included in his model, the drool machine. To help mom manage the drool machine, he also was an expert at finding items for mom to wipe up said drool, you know, socks and paper towels.
The only thing Tug did not like to share with was the sneaky little squirrels and the pterodactyl like creatures that mom fed on the regular. (We would know them as hummingbirds).
Tug, you brought such a light and spirit to your family. I know you are dearly missed. There was a picture that Pam had posted that really spoke to me as I created Tug’s tribute. It is a picture from a walk in which Tug is standing and looking back at the camera with the road behind him. I envision this as the spot that Tug returned to as the path to the Rainbow Bridge and looking back at Mom and Dad saying “Thanks for a great life mom and dad, so much love given and received. I know you miss me, but I will meet you here someday. Until then, hold me in your heart as you will always be in mine.”
Tug, your wings were ready, but mom and dad’s hearts were not. Pam, you are in our thoughts as your companion is gone, but the memories are forever.
