OHIO HUNT TEST

Couldn’t ask for a more perfect way to spend the weekend.

The Ohio Hunt Test, held April 23 - 24th, started off the AWSC Hunt Test year. Huge thanks goes out to Jennifer Cooper for bringing this location to the attention of the AWSC. From being a participant last year to being the Hunt Secretary for this year’s event - she had the vision that this would be an excellent location to host an AWSC event, and was able to make it happen. And A huge thank you to our President Jon Klema, and the members of our Hunt Test Committee: David McCracken, Tim Otto, & Mike Dismer for helping make this happen.

A special thanks goes out to the owners Dennis and Terri Courtad, for making us all feel so welcome. The grounds were beautiful and the water was perfect - warm enough for our dogs to take a swim without any hesitation. And it was wonderful to have hot, home made lunches available for all at the Elk Ridge Game Farm. Wonderful hospitality - thank you so much! Can’t wait to return!

The weather was in the low 80’s - but the day was comfortable due to a nice breeze. The birds were flying - and our gunners did a great job of bringing them down for our dogs. Thank you Jay Wills, Jeff Zachow, Michael Finnegan, Staci Benno & Dan Wright for volunteering your time and skill.

To our Judges, Brent LeMaster and Jon Dudash - Thank you so much for giving us your time, energy and expertise. It was a long, hot day for sure - but you still gave the time to help those in need with excellent advice and tips. Thank You.

And Last but not least - Thank you to ALL the Participants for coming and making this event AWESOME! It was so nice to meet old friends, create new friendships, and have the opportunity to see so many wonderful dogs do what they do best!
