The Pfeifer Award honor
The Pfeifer award honors the top five AWS field working dogs participating in licensed hunt tests and is presented at the AWSC's Annual Awards Banquet. Each year the points obtained by passing hunt tests are totaled to determine the top five dogs performing in licensed hunt tests.
The award allows dogs to continue to compete for the award year after year and it encourages the showcasing of the breed in different hunt test venues.
Each of the top five dogs receives a certificate and a gold duck band.
The dog earning the most points takes home a traveling trophy for one year and must have earned a minimum of 100 points between January 1 and December 31 to qualify for the trophy.
